Social bookmarking meets art criticism

As I’ve mentioned before, art critics can supply valuable information to those hoping to learn more about the art world, but in a web based world that is dominated by those who only care about their opinion, it may become hard to trust the information being read.

Social bookmarking is a good way to learn about these sites, but a site that takes bookmarking a step further is diigo. Diigo allows readers to highlight interesting points as well as comment about them right on the page. This opens up the ability to read ideas from people who may have an insight into the gallery or artist on the page. When learning about the art scene it is important to get the right information. Instead of bookmarking a page and watching it go into a long list of a hundred other bookmarks, diigo eliminates the need to search through other websites to find the facts.
